AMANDA BRIDGES holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from Western Kentucky University, where her main emphasis of study was the human figure. Amanda pays the bills working as a User Interaction Designer for a Fortune 500 company. She opened hippie art chick studios in 2006.
Amanda's current work centers around a strong feminine mystique and imagery of earth/goddess/labyrinth. She is exploring this concept thru weaving, clay, charcoal and block printing.
Amanda is a former juried member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen. She is a current member of the Handweavers Guild of America, the Spinning & Weaving Association, the American Tapestry Alliance, the Friendship Spinners, the Lexington Fiber Guild and the Winchester Art Guild. Amanda lives in Winchester Kentucky and teaches fiber arts and clay workshops throughout the central Kentucky area.
